Rob Wootton's Spicy Method Mix
Geplaatst Match Tactiek at Oct 26, 2010
All summer Rob's been taking apart fisheries up and down the country using a 'special' groundbait. Here he exclusively reveals his secret mix for DynamiteBaits.com...
The Method feeder is one of the most devastating tactics there is on commercial fisheries and when used in the correct situation there is very little to beat it.
One slight problem with this is that everyone has cottoned onto this fact so the top anglers are developing new ways to give them the edge when fishing in this manner.
A trick that many of Dynamite’s sponsored anglers have been using lately is to give their Method mix an extra boost by adding a liquid additive – in Rob's case a spicy flavour that carp seem to love.
For months now the ‘Spicy Method Mix’ has been taking venues apart. It has the perfect consistency for moulding around a modern, flat-bed, Method feeder and also has the added attraction of an unbeatable flavour.
Here's how Rob mixes it:
Step 1 - To create the spicy method mix you’ll need a bag of Dynamite Baits’ Swim Stim Method Mix and a bottle of Dynamite’s Spicy Shrimp and Prawn Liquid Attractant.
Step 2 - First job is to add half a bottle of the Spicy Shrimp and Prawn Liquid to a pint of water.
Step 3 - Add the dry contents of a bag of Swim Stim Method Mix to a large round mixing bowl.
Step 4 - Using the flavoured water, mix the ground bait into a ‘stodgy’ consistency.
Step 5 - Leave for ten minutes and give the mix another quick stir (it might need a little more water)
Step 6 - Riddle the groundbait, doing this creates a fine overall mix it also helps to get plenty of air into the crumb.
Step 7 - Moulds have made Method feeder fishing so much simpler, it’s best to fill the mould to the brim...
Step 8 - Before pushing the feeder into the mould...
Step 9 - ...to create the perfect feeder ready to cast.
