Rob Wootton's Spicy Method Mix

Geplaatst Match Tactiek at Oct 26, 2010

Rob Wootton headshotAll summer Rob's been taking apart fisheries up and down the country using a 'special' groundbait. Here he exclusively reveals his secret mix for DynamiteBaits.com...

The Method feeder is one of the most devastating tactics there is on commercial fisheries and when used in the correct situation there is very little to beat it.

One slight problem with this is that everyone has cottoned onto this fact so the top anglers are developing new ways to give them the edge when fishing in this manner.

A trick that many of Dynamite’s sponsored anglers have been using lately is to give their Method mix an extra boost by adding a liquid additive – in Rob's case a spicy flavour that carp seem to love.

For months now the ‘Spicy Method Mix’ has been taking venues apart. It has the perfect consistency for moulding around a modern, flat-bed, Method feeder and also has the added attraction of an unbeatable flavour.

Here's how Rob mixes it:

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 1Step 1 - To create the spicy method mix you’ll need a bag of Dynamite Baits’ Swim Stim Method Mix and a bottle of Dynamite’s Spicy Shrimp and Prawn Liquid Attractant.

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 2Step 2 - First job is to add half a bottle of the Spicy Shrimp and Prawn Liquid to a pint of water.

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 3Step 3 - Add the dry contents of a bag of Swim Stim Method Mix to a large round mixing bowl.

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 4Step 4 - Using the flavoured water, mix the ground bait into a ‘stodgy’ consistency.

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 5Step 5 - Leave for ten minutes and give the mix another quick stir (it might need a little more water)

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 6Step 6 - Riddle the groundbait, doing this creates a fine overall mix it also helps to get plenty of air into the crumb.

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 7Step 7 - Moulds have made Method feeder fishing so much simpler, it’s best to fill the mould to the brim...

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 8Step 8 - Before pushing the feeder into the mould...

Rob Wootton Spicy Method Step 9Step 9 - ...to create the perfect feeder ready to cast.

Also..do you use method in winter, and can you give me your opinion to when you would switch from groundbait to pellets round this feeder.
