Hinged Stiff Rig Does The Trick

German angler Klaus Wegmann has recently taken a fine run of fish from a large quarry pond in Germany putting his success down to his version of the hinged stiff rig which banked fish to well over 30lb.

The water he has been targeting measures 86-acres in size and has very few fish in it (approximately 0.5 carp per acre).

Klaus targeted one of the shallower areas of the lake which is between 2m and 4m deep. He baited with chopped Marine Halibut Boilies and Frenzied Hempseed and then fished over the top.

His hinged stiff rig consists of a size 6 Gamakatsu Specialist X hook, baited with a 15mm Squid & Octopus Fluro Pop-up.
